South Western has established a tradition of excellence in scholastic publications and the Equestrian is no exception. The Equestrian is South Western High School’s Yearbook Club. It is our goal to define and record the school year in a touching and thought-provoking photographic historical record. We hope to create lasting memories of student life, sports, academics, clubs, our school community, and most importantly, the people who attend and make South Western a great place to be.
The Equestrian is open to all 9th-12th grade students who wish to dedicate their time and talents to creating the year’s publication. Members of the yearbook staff are entrusted to plan the yearbook and have an integral role in capturing the school year through the lens of a camera or through the stories that they write. Yearbook is continually looking for outgoing, self-motivated students who work well in a team atmosphere. Our number one requirement is that our staffers are available to commit their time to our club. Students are required to attend after-school work sessions, sporting events, club events, and also events on the weekend. We do not require that students have any specific publication or photography skills prior to joining the club as we will teach the process to all staff members.
