South Western School District provides a robust network to meet the technology needs of all stakeholders.

The Technology Department is responsible for the acquisition, installation and management of all forms of technology throughout the district, including hardware, software, networking, telecommunications, and security.  The department consists of a director, network systems specialist, and three technicians.

Wireless access is available throughout every district building as well as our building to building connection.  Teachers and Administrators have a district-owned laptop and all office personnel have desktop systems.  Learners in grades 5 – 12 have district issued laptops.  Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year we are transitioning the laptops away from Ubuntu to Chromebooks. Learners in grades 2, 3, and 4 have classroom carts of Chromebooks, and Learners in grades K and 1 have classroom carts of Ubuntu laptops.

All instructional areas are equipped with data projectors and interactive white board technology.  Document cameras are available in all elementary classrooms.  3-D printers are available in all buildings for learner and staff use.

The District uses Sapphire Software for our Student Information System and CSIU for the district Financial Software.  Our Learning Management System is provided by itslearning, Google G Suite is used for email and document collaboration.
