The 2015-16 school year is right around the corner. Our teachers returned today for a day of in-service and we are excited and ready to begin a new school year for our learners. Over the summer, our teachers enjoyed multiple opportunities to attend professional learning sessions. There were also many discussions about possible improvements and fine tuning regarding our instructional practices as we assessed data from our previous year. Both today and on Monday, August 24 (which is another professional learning day), our entire staff will be learning more about customizing our instructional process to motivate and inspire our learners. Our vision is that the learners will be motivated to be life-long learners. We hope that is what you want, also.
On Tuesday, August 25, when our elementary (K-5) and our 6th and 9th grade students start their year, they will be greeted with enthusiastic educators. And, on Wednesday, August 26, when our students in grades 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12 return, they will be greeted with the same enthusiasm. We are ready to fill our halls with learners who are eager to learn.
Parents, we need your support so all learners can start off with high interest and enthusiasm. Please prepare your children with your own excitement and expectations for their success in the upcoming school year. You are a critical member of our educational team. If you are excited for the start of school, that excitement will be shared by your children.
Everyone at South Western is excited and ready for another year of learning for our most important customer—your children.
